Australian Capital Territory Sports Betting

Sports bookmaking in the Australian Capital Territory is regulated by the Race and Sports Bookmaking Act of 2001.

Licenses are issued by the Australian Capital Territory Gambling and Racing Commission. Sports bookmakers are allowed to accept bets on approved events 24 hours a day, seven days a week in approved venues using approved telecommunication systems.

ACT’s totalizator and retail wagering operations have since been integrated into national TAB and corporate bookmaker networks, with ACT residents predominantly betting through these licensed brands rather than a standalone territory-owned ACCTAB network.
