Victoria Sports Betting

Sports betting is permitted in Victoria and is regulated by the Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation (VCGR). The VCGR is responsible for approving sporting and other non-racing events for betting purposes.

The VCGR (now VGCCC for gambling regulation) permits wagering on the Australian Football League, the Australian Rugby Union, Cricket Australia, National Rugby League, Professional Golfers Association (PGS) of Australia events and Tennis Australia events. Sports betting operators must also comply with national measures such as BetStop (the self-exclusion register), identity pre-verification and the federal ban on credit cards and digital currencies for online wagering, which took effect on 11 June 2024.
